Get Your Pair of Lucky Socks

Successful professional athletes are born with natural talent. Mix that with patience, dedication, and a little bit of luck, and they are unstoppable.

Many athletes have a good luck charm or a superstitious routine that they believe will help bring them luck in their upcoming match or game. Some athletes have lucky socks they think will help them perform better, run faster, make more baskets, or put them a step ahead of the competition. For instance, professional tennis player, Serena Williams, makes sure she wears the right socks.

Serena is one of the greatest female tennis players of all time and is known for her aggressive performance on the court. But like many other athletes, Serena has her superstitions. As long as she's on winning, Serena will refuse to change her socks. She will continue to wear the same unwashed socks to tournaments until her winning streak comes to a close or the tournament ends.

Lucky Socks for Athletes

Serena isn't the only athlete with sock-related good luck charms.

Judo gold medalist, Kayla Harrison, wore a pair of lucky socks that were a gift from her grandmother and went on to win the gold medal in the London 2012 Olympic Games.

NBA Dallas Mavericks shooting guard, Jason Terry, has a number of good luck charms and game day routines. He wears five pairs of socks while playing. In a 2006 interview with the New York Times, he said the good luck socks were inspired by his father and the five pairs were “just a comfort thing.”

Wade Boggs, who played for the Boston Red Sox as a third baseman in the 1980s and 1990s, had numerous superstitions, including a pair of lucky socks he wore on every game day.

Wrestling league champion, Will Zaffuto, credits his success on the mat to his lucky socks that he has worn before every match since middle school.

Sock of the Irish

This Saint Patrick's Day, you can experience the luck o' the Irish by treating your feet!

When you think of Saint Patrick's Day, shamrocks are likely the first thing that comes to mind. Four-leaf clovers are universally recognized as lucky. However, the likelihood of you finding a four-leaf clover is one in every 10,000 three-leaf clovers. They can be pretty hard to come by. Thankfully, unlike four-leaf clovers, the chances of you finding a pair of socks that will have you feeling lucky are much higher!

Your feet will feel like they found the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow when you wear EcoSox bamboo socks. These socks are made of bamboo viscose for a comfortable fit that feels like high-quality silk.
