EcoSox Supports Sustainable Efforts and Reforestation

According to One Tree Planted, partnering businesses donated $30,108,777 in 2021, allowing the organization to plant over 23 million trees throughout the year.

With the help of your purchases, EcoSox has planted more than 13,000 trees as of September 2021. This initiative makes our product carbon-negative over time.

Why trees? Trees play an integral part in the environment and economy by helping clean the air we breathe, filtering the water we drink, and providing jobs for over 1.6 million people. Trees also provide habitat to more than 80% of the world’s terrestrial biodiversity. In addition, trees remove harmful carbon from the atmosphere, are used in 25% of all medicines and have proven to improve mental health.

Why is One Tree Planted Important to EcoSox?

EcoSox makes a conscious effort toward a more sustainable and eco-friendlier lifestyle. Many of the products found on EcoSox’s website are made with bamboo viscose fibers, which are derived from one of the most ecologically friendly grasses on the planet. This makes it a better alternative to cotton and petroleum-based fibers.

Why is bamboo considered ecologically friendly? It doesn’t require irrigation as it thrives naturally from the rainfall and doesn’t need pesticides or fertilizers. Bamboo grows quickly and doesn’t need to be replanted after harvest. Unlike a tree, it regrows after it is cut!

Bamboo also has various benefits to the environment. It creates 35% more oxygen than an equivalent stand of trees and absorbs five times the greenhouse gases. Bamboo also has many uses, meaning there is very little waste from harvested bamboo.

EcoSox are manufactured from bamboo viscose derived from Moso bamboo, which is native to China and Taiwan. It’s been growing in the southern part of the United States for more than 100 years.
